OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza Rejects Claims in JAAC Press Release

Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Chairman Syed Qamar Raza has issued a clarification, rejecting claims made in a press release by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), saying it distorted facts through speculation and presented a misleading account of events.

Qamar Raza said his contact with the JAAC was made solely to help end tensions and encourage a peaceful resolution of the situation. He emphasized that his efforts were aimed at promoting peace and addressing the concerns of overseas Pakistanis, adding that many individuals had responded positively and wisely to his proposal.

The OPF chairman alleged that a few individuals were attempting to use the matter for cheap publicity, stressing that he had acted only in his official capacity to represent his institution and the people. He said his mandate is rooted in serving the country and its people, adding that nothing would deter him from pursuing that objective.
