Pakistan, Canada Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Security and Trade Sectors

Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand visited the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad and held a meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations, expanding trade ties, enhancing security cooperation, and improving mutual engagements between Pakistan and Canada.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the latest regional developments and discussed cooperation to counter illegal immigration, human trafficking, and cybercrime. They also explored training program and exchange opportunities for law enforcement officials to enhance professional collaboration.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan seeks to expand relations with Canada in all fields, highlighting the positive role of the Pakistani community in contributing to the progress of both countries. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said cooperation in areas of shared interest would further strengthen bilateral ties, while Anita Anand expressed Canada’s desire to enhance relations with Pakistan through greater collaboration. Both sides also agreed to work towards signing a memorandum of understanding to promote bilateral cooperation.
