Pakistan Petrol Prices: Could Fuel Rates Cross Rs400 as Oil Tops $100?
Pakistan’s motorists may face another increase in petrol and diesel prices in August as global oil prices have climbed above $100 per barrel.
Brent crude rose to $101.06 per barrel on Friday, while concerns over possible supply disruptions in the Red Sea and rising tensions involving Iran continued to push prices higher. Brent is expected to record its fourth consecutive weekly gain, while US crude prices are also heading for a weekly increase.
Pakistan has recently moved from the previous twice-a-month fuel price review system to daily price adjustments, allowing local fuel prices to reflect changes in the international market.
Currently, petrol is priced at Rs331.52 per litre, while high-speed diesel costs Rs378.66 per litre.
Over the past week, diesel prices have increased by Rs55.81 per litre, while petrol has become Rs20.81 per litre more expensive since July 17.
If global oil prices continue to rise, petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan could cross Rs400 per litre in August 2026, putting further pressure on motorists and household budgets.
