India Involved in Terrorism in Pakistan, Says PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that India is involved in terrorism in Pakistan, adding that more than 90,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives in the fight against terrorism.

Addressing participants of the Balochistan National Workshop, the prime minister said Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies were working to protect the country. He said the country’s development and prosperity were linked to the progress of Balochistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said Balochistan is Pakistan’s largest province by area and that both Baloch and Pashtun communities played an important role in the creation of Pakistan. He added that Balochistan needs more resources because of the long distances between its different areas.

The prime minister said Punjab had contributed Rs150 billion to Balochistan under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award. He also said construction work was continuing on the Karachi-Chaman dual carriageway and that other provinces had supported Balochistan as an act of brotherhood.

He said previous and current governments had provided record funds for Balochistan’s development, while 27,000 tube wells in the province had been shifted to solar energy. He assured that the federal government would continue to support the province’s development.

Expressing grief over the death of Session Judge Abdul Hakeem, Shehbaz Sharif said the sacrifices of the people of Balochistan would not go to waste. He alleged that India was involved in terrorist activities in the province.

The prime minister said more than 90,000 people had been killed in the war against terrorism and vowed that operations against terrorists would continue.

He also said the Afghan regime had failed to stop terrorism and had repeatedly been asked not to allow its territory to be used against Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan had achieved major successes in recent days and defeated its enemy in “Marka-e-Haq”. He added that the country’s problems could be addressed through transparent governance and effective diplomacy.
