Pezeshkian Orders Swift Reconstruction of Transport Infrastructure Damaged in U.S. Attacks

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has ordered the rapid reconstruction of transport infrastructure damaged in recent U.S. attacks, following a visit to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. During the visit, he was briefed on the condition of border terminals, ports, and the country’s road, rail, sea, and air transport networks, as well as the supply, clearance and distribution of essential goods. The roads minister presented a detailed assessment of damage to bridges, railways, ports, logistics facilities and other strategic infrastructure.

Pezeshkian directed authorities to accelerate reconstruction efforts, activate alternative transport routes, strengthen the resilience of the national transport network and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential services. He emphasized that expanding regional cooperation and improving infrastructure links with neighboring countries remain key strategic priorities, noting that Iran’s active diplomacy has created favorable conditions for broader transport and transit partnerships.

The president also highlighted the importance of completing rail connections with neighboring states, saying such projects would enhance Iran’s economic resilience, support international transit corridors and maximize the country’s geopolitical potential. He further instructed that damaged terminals and transport infrastructure be rebuilt to the highest international standards, incorporating modern warehousing, logistics, cargo handling, smart management systems and advanced technologies.
