Israeli Settlers Accused of Arson Attacks on Mosques in Occupied West Bank

26 July, 2026 19:27

Israeli settlers allegedly set fire to two mosques, along with several vehicles and agricultural land, in separate attacks across the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian officials. The incidents come amid escalating tensions in the territory, just two days after clashes near the village of Tal left four Palestinians and two Israelis dead, with both sides accusing each other of provoking the violence.

Palestinian reports said two villages were targeted overnight, with settlers vandalizing cars, stealing property and spray-painting hate graffiti on buildings. In the village of Qusra, Mayor Abdul Azim Wadi said settlers set fire to a mosque that was under construction and painted the word “revenge” on its walls.

The attacks have further heightened tensions in the occupied West Bank, where violence involving extremist Israeli settlers and Palestinians has intensified in recent months. The Israeli military said troops were deployed to Qusra following the incident and that police would investigate the alleged arson and collect evidence.
