CNN, MS NOW White House reporters denied access to Xi’s state dinner arrival,

CNN reporters denied access: The White House denied two CNN journalists Thursday evening from covering Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s arrival at the White House for a state dinner, after trying to tell the network which type of journalists could cover the event. MS NOW journalists were also denied access.

• Passes reinstated: Earlier in the day, CNN along with MS NOW and Politico were allowed back into the White House after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to temporarily reinstate press badges for the news outlets.

• Judge’s order: The move came after the three outlets told federal Judge Timothy Kelly that their journalists were still denied entry in the morning despite his ruling. Overnight, Kelly ordered the Trump administration to temporarily reinstate their access after the outlets were banned from the premises last week by President Donald Trump.
