JI Chief, Iranian and Afghan Envoys Stress Muslim Unity and Regional Peace

Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman held separate meetings with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam and Afghan Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb in Islamabad, where both envoys offered condolences over the passing of Ameer-ul-Azeem and paid tribute to his religious and national services, while praying for his forgiveness.

During the meetings, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said Pakistan and Iran shared deep historical and brotherly ties, describing the two countries as “one soul in two bodies.” He added that the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan were bound together by religious, historical, and cultural relations. The Jamaat-e-Islami chief also called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Iran, Gaza, and Lebanon, and expressed solidarity with the Iranian government and people in the face of what he described as U.S. and Israeli aggression.

The Iranian ambassador said enhanced cooperation among Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye was essential for regional peace and stability, while the Afghan ambassador emphasized that close cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan was fundamental to achieving lasting peace in the region. Both meetings concluded with an agreement on the importance of strengthening unity within the Muslim world and working jointly to promote regional peace and stability.
