Pakistan’s Current Governance System Has Failed, Says Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi addressed the Economic Summit in Islamabad, saying the conference had not only highlighted the country’s key challenges but had also presented practical solutions. He remarked that participants openly discussed Pakistan’s problems while also proposing ways to address them.

Naqvi said that some of those responsible for the country’s current situation were also present at the summit. He argued that, whether people accepted it or not, the governance system under which Pakistan has been operating had failed and required serious reforms.

The interior minister reiterated his support for democracy, stating that he strongly believed in the democratic process. However, he noted that democracy can function through different models and emphasized that the current system had failed to deliver over the past 70 to 80 years. He warned that unless meaningful reforms are introduced, the country would still be discussing the same issues at similar conferences even a decade from now.
