AJK Election Commission Says Preparations Complete for Second Phase of Polls

The Senior Member of the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ahsan, said all arrangements have been finalized for the second phase of the general elections in the Muzaffarabad Division, which is scheduled to take place on August 2. He urged voters across the division to participate actively and exercise their right to vote.

Addressing a news conference, Ahsan said the first phase of polling in the Mirpur Division witnessed enthusiastic public participation. He noted that voter turnout in Azad Jammu and Kashmir typically ranges between 40 and 42 percent.

According to the Election Commission, turnout in the first phase of voting in the Mirpur Division exceeded 46 percent, surpassing the usual participation rate. Election officials expressed hope for a similarly strong turnout in the second phase of polling in the Muzaffarabad Division.
