SSGC Announces Temporary Gas Suspension in Parts of Karachi Due to Pipeline Upgrade

02 August, 2026 10:12

KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced that gas supply will be temporarily suspended in several parts of Karachi due to work on a new gas pipeline.

According to an official statement, SSGC is commissioning a new 16-inch gas pipeline from Abul Hasan Isphani Road to Gulshan-e-Maymar. As part of the project, all Town Border Stations (TBSs) along this route will be connected to the newly installed pipeline to improve the city’s gas distribution network.

To complete the work safely, gas supply will remain suspended from 10:00 PM on Saturday until 10:00 AM on Sunday.

The areas likely to be affected include parts of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Abul Hasan Isphani Road, Metroville, Scheme 33, and Al-Asif Square.

SSGC has advised residents and businesses in these areas to make the necessary arrangements before the shutdown, especially for cooking and other daily needs that require gas.

The company apologized for the temporary inconvenience caused by the suspension and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation. SSGC said the pipeline upgrade is part of its ongoing efforts to improve the reliability, safety and efficiency of the gas supply system, ensuring better service for consumers in the future.
