Sindh Govt Orders Faster Work on Yellow Line BRT Project

KARACHI: The Sindh government has directed all relevant departments to remove utility-related hurdles in advance to ensure the timely completion of the Yellow Line BRT project.

The instructions were issued during a meeting of the Transport Department chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, Yellow Line BRT Project Director Kamal Dayo, and other officials attended the meeting.

Officials gave a detailed briefing on the progress of the project and said construction work is continuing as planned. They said the project’s depots are expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year.

Sharjeel Inam Memon directed authorities to complete all utility shifting and relocation work immediately to avoid delays in the project.

He also ordered the early completion of the second section of the Taj Haider Bridge to reduce inconvenience for the public.

The senior minister said the pace of work must be maintained and all obstacles should be removed without delay. He added that the Yellow Line BRT is an important public transport project for the people of Karachi and its timely completion is one of the Sindh government’s top priorities.

He also instructed all concerned departments to work closely together and resolve any issues through better coordination.
