Mir Raza Ali’s Body Exhumed for Forensic Examination
KARACHI: The body of late entrepreneur Mir Raza Ali was exhumed on Saturday as part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Mir Raza’s remains were exhumed from his grave at Society Cemetery on Tariq Road following a court order. Samples were collected for a forensic post-mortem examination.
Members of the medical board were present at the cemetery along with Mir Raza’s family members and his lawyer, Jibran Nasir. A large number of police personnel were also deployed at the site, with strict security arrangements in place.
The medical board collected different samples from the remains for further examination. DNA samples were also obtained, while the board decided to collect DNA samples from Mir Raza’s parents to assist in the investigation.
Officials said different parts of the remains were examined by specialists on the medical board. Each specialist conducted an independent examination as part of the forensic process.
The police surgeon, head of the identification project and a magistrate were also present during the exhumation.
Mir Raza Ali, an Institute of Business Administration (IBA) graduate and entrepreneur, went missing on the night of July 28 after leaving his home. He had told his family that he would return within 10 minutes.
His body was later found in bushes in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. The discovery led authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, with the latest forensic examination expected to provide further information.
