Federal Minister Jam Kamal Supports Creation of New Provinces

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal has expressed support for the creation of new provinces and administrative units, saying smaller administrative units could improve governance and make the delivery of public services more effective. He said such units could help transfer financial and administrative powers closer to the people and ensure that basic services are provided nearer to local communities.

Jamal said the 18th Constitutional Amendment transferred powers from the federal government to the provinces, with the objective of bringing authority and resources closer to ordinary citizens. He stressed the need for a clear and fair formula for distributing resources among districts, warning that unequal allocation of resources could create public frustration and a sense of mistrust.

The federal minister said smaller provinces and administrative units could enable a more balanced distribution of development resources and encourage healthy competition among different regions. He added that a more effective administrative structure could improve governance and facilitate better access to essential services, including healthcare and education.
