Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Raises Questions Over Mir Raza Death Investigation

Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has raised questions over the investigation into the mysterious death of Karachi businessman Mir Raza, questioning who had supported the move to replace the post-mortem board. Asif asked who had been behind the decision to change the medical board and whether anyone would now attempt to influence the new report.

Asif said serious questions had been raised over the investigation into Mir Raza’s mysterious death. Referring to the preliminary medical findings, he said answers to some of the questions were beginning to emerge. He questioned whether the influential figures in Karachi would provide answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the case.

The defense minister also questioned who would ensure that the requirements of justice were fulfilled. His remarks come after a renewed medical examination and exhumation of Mir Raza’s body, with authorities collecting forensic and DNA samples as part of the investigation.
