Atif Aslam Says He Doesn’t Miss Working in India, But Misses His Fans

Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has earned widespread admiration in India where his voice has been loved by audiences for years.

Atif’s soulful Bollywood songs, memorable playback tracks and powerful live performances, which performances have helped him build a strong following among Indian audiences, and built a lasting cross-border fan base.

Regardless of changes in India-Pakistan showbiz affairs, Atif’s music remains famous in India, which shows the permanent connection he has built with listeners.

Revealing about his nearly ten-year absence from India’s music industry, Atif admitted that he does not miss working in India but misses the loyal fans who have stood by and supported his music over the years.

During a direct conversation with Kris Fade, Atif Aslam talked the ban on Pakistani artists and shared the experience unexpectedly encouraged him to delve deeper into his own musical identity.

The singer said that Pakistani artistes have faced a near-decade-long ban in India, with Indian artists also facing similar restrictions in Pakistan.

Although he has been away from India’s entertainment industry, Atif said his songs continue to reach and connect with listeners.

Atif said, addressing his Indian fans, “Don’t feel bad about it, don’t feel sad about it. I always wanted to tell you that I miss you guys. I don’t miss working over there, but I miss you guys.”

Atif shared that the ban unexpectedly influenced the path his career eventually took. The singer express that unable to pursue playback singing in India, Atif turned his focus towards creating and releasing his own music.

He said, “I have learnt a lot from playback singing and if this ban didn’t happen, I think I would be unable to make my own music. So I thank you guys for that as well.”

Atif added that, surprisingly, he was grateful for the ban, as it gave him an opportunity to look inward and discover himself as an artiste.

“I thank those who have banned me as well, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to explore myself.”

Atif Aslam consider that his years away from Bollywood have not faded his long-term link with Indian audiences.

He revealed that his fans continue to seek out his music, adding, “If you love me enough, you will know where to find me.”
