UN: Nearly 3,000 Israeli Settler Attacks Reported in West Bank Since 2025

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has accused Israel of bearing responsibility for the actions of Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, saying the state is effectively outsourcing coercion to settler groups. Her comments came as settlers reportedly continued surrounding three Palestinian homes in the West Bank village of Qusra for a week, preventing residents from leaving.

Albanese described the situation as “Incredibly and utterly shameful” and criticized the international community for allowing such actions to continue. She argued that settler violence was being used as part of a broader campaign of forced displacement, warning that Israeli ministers had previously indicated that pressure on Palestinians could extend from Gaza to the occupied West Bank.

According to the UN data cited in the report, Israeli settler groups have carried out nearly 3,000 attacks against Palestinians and their property across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of 2025. The UN has warned of a serious escalation involving both settlers and Israeli forces, reporting killings, injuries and widespread damage to homes, mosques, water networks, agricultural land and other private property, with Palestinian residential and Bedouin communities facing increasing displacement.
