Iran Urges UN Security Council to Hold Emergency Meeting over US-Israeli Threats

The letter cited recent US media reports claiming that the White House and the US Department of War had prepared new military options involving potential attacks against Iran. These reportedly included the possible use of the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), widely known as the “Mother of All Bombs,” one of the largest conventional bombs in the US arsenal.

Darzi also referred to televised remarks by US President Donald Trump, who reportedly discussed the weapon and threatened further attacks against Iran. The Iranian diplomat called on the United Nations’ principal body responsible for international peace and security to address the threats, warning of the serious implications of potential military action against the country’s territory and vital infrastructure.
