PIMS Hospital Tragedy: Inquiry Committee Continues Investigation on PM’s Directives

ISLAMABAD: An inquiry committee formed on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is continuing its investigation into the PIMS Hospital tragedy.

According to sources, the committee has recorded statements from more than 30 PIMS employees, including all relevant staff members. The committee also questioned the PIMS health management staff and sought written statements from hospital employees.

The inquiry committee checked the biometric records of employees and reviewed CCTV footage as part of the investigation.

Statements of the Executive Director (ED) PIMS and the Joint Director were also recorded, sources said. The electrical medical report of PIMS Hospital was submitted to the committee.

The committee also recorded statements from 18 security guards deployed at the Mother and Child Health (MCH) Centre.

During the investigation, the committee questioned PIMS staff and checked the duty roster of the nursery staff. It also took photographs and videos of the New National Nursery.

The inquiry committee will prepare its findings and submit the investigation report to the prime minister.
