BLA Commander Blamed Security Institutions for Husband’s Killing, Zainab Reveals

Quetta: Zainab has revealed that a Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) commander blamed state institutions for her husband’s killing and persuaded her to seek revenge. She said she was encouraged to join the militant group by exploiting her emotions following her husband’s death. Zainab added that her underage cousin Fatima, who was constantly with her, came into contact with a local commander because of her association with Zainab.

Zainab said Fatima’s father had also been targeted and killed in a terrorist attack by the BLA. According to her, Fatima was similarly manipulated emotionally and persuaded to become part of the militant organization. She said both girls were influenced by calls for revenge against state institutions and eventually ended up with the BLA.

The two girls revealed that they were kept at an undisclosed location for around 40 days, where they were allegedly subjected to physical abuse. They further alleged that a commander at the location also attempted to establish a relationship with them.
