Iran Vows Decisive Response to US Attack on Larak Island

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has praised the retaliatory operation carried out by Iranian armed forces following the US attack on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, warning foreign forces that they must learn from the consequences of their actions and leave the region.

The United States attacked Larak Island late Sunday, reportedly killing and injuring several Iranian military personnel and civilians while damaging public and private property. Gharibabadi described the incident as part of military aggression against Iran and said any action threatening the country’s territorial integrity would face a decisive response.

He said Iranian authorities considered the attacks a serious act of aggression that would receive an appropriate response, stressing that foreign forces should be removed from the region and warned against repeating what he described as acts of aggression against Iran.

Earlier Monday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said its Aerospace Force had targeted US military positions in Jordan in retaliation for the Larak Island attack. The Iranian Army also announced that US military assets in the United Arab Emirates had been targeted as part of the retaliatory operations.
