Iran Vows “Heavier, Broader” Retaliation Against Continued US Aggression

Iran’s top operational military command has warned that the Islamic Republic will respond to continued US attacks with “heavier, broader, and more devastating” retaliation.

Lieutenant-Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, issued the warning on Wednesday after Iranian forces carried out coordinated missile and drone strikes against multiple US military positions across the region.

Zolfaqari said the Iranian retaliation followed fresh US attacks on targets inside Iran, including civilian locations. He claimed the Iranian strikes caused extensive damage to military infrastructure, facilities, weapons and equipment at the targeted bases, while also causing significant American casualties.

He warned that Iranian offensive operations against US forces would continue until Washington regretted what Tehran describes as acts of aggression.

The Iranian commander also cautioned countries cooperating with the United States, warning that they could face serious consequences if their territory or facilities were used for attacks against Iran.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, deputy for political affairs of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, directly addressed regional countries hosting American military forces.

Javani urged those governments to remove US forces from their territory and take control of the military bases hosting them.

He warned that any attack launched against Iran from Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan or another regional country would trigger what he described as a decisive Iranian response.

The warning reflects Tehran’s growing focus on US military infrastructure across the Middle East, particularly bases that could potentially be used in operations against Iran.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei also condemned a US strike in the southern province of Hormozgan.

According to Baghaei, at least five people were killed and 68 others wounded after shrapnel from the attack struck a wedding gathering.

Baghaei described the incident as part of what he called a broader pattern of attacks against Iranian civilians. He said Iran would respond firmly to what Tehran considers serious violations and acts of aggression.

The Iranian official also criticised the international community for what he described as insufficient action over attacks on civilians, warning that continued silence could encourage further violence.

Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, separately condemned the US attacks.

Azizi said the latest strikes demonstrated what he called the desperation of those claiming to defend human rights.

He warned that the attacks would not go unanswered and said Iran’s armed forces would pursue what he described as a strong response against those responsible.

The statements from Iran’s military, government and parliament indicate that Tehran is maintaining a hardline position following the latest escalation, while warning both the United States and regional countries hosting American forces against further military action.
