Iran Warns Arab States: Remove US Troops or Face a ‘Crushing’ Military Response

TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to Arab countries hosting US military forces, urging them to remove American troops and military facilities from their territories or risk facing what Tehran described as a “crushing” military response.

According to Al Jazeera, Yadollah Javani, deputy head of the IRGC’s political bureau, warned Arab states against supporting ongoing US military operations against Iran.

Javani specifically named Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, saying that the continued presence of American forces in these countries could potentially make them targets of Iranian retaliation.

The senior IRGC official called on Arab governments to remove US military personnel and bases from their territories, arguing that American military infrastructure in the region represents a security threat to Iran.

Javani warned that if these countries allow US forces to remain stationed on their soil, Iran could respond with severe military action. He described the potential response as “crushing,” underscoring the seriousness of Tehran’s warning.

The remarks come as tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate, with Washington maintaining military facilities and personnel across several countries in the Middle East.

Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan are considered important US security partners in the region and host varying levels of American military presence.

Bahrain is particularly significant to Washington’s regional military posture because it hosts a major US Navy facility and serves as an important hub for American maritime operations.

Jordan also maintains close defence cooperation with the United States and has hosted US military personnel and military infrastructure. Kuwait, meanwhile, remains an important component of the American military presence in the Gulf and has supported US defence operations in the region.

By explicitly naming the three countries, the Iranian warning raises concerns that the conflict could expand beyond direct US-Iranian confrontation.

Iranian threats against US military facilities in neighbouring countries could place additional pressure on governments seeking to avoid becoming directly involved in the conflict.

Any Iranian military action against American bases could potentially affect the security of the host countries and further destabilise an already volatile Middle East.

Regional analysts have warned that attacks involving US military facilities outside Iran could trigger a broader escalation, drawing additional countries into the conflict.

The latest warning therefore highlights the growing risk of the US-Iran confrontation spreading across the region, particularly if American forces continue operating from bases in countries that Tehran considers part of the wider military infrastructure supporting Washington.
