15 India-Sponsored Terrorists Killed as Infiltration Bid Foiled Along Pak-Afghan Border: ISPR

12 Fitna Al Khwarij Killed, 15 Security Personnel Martyred in Tank Check Post Attack: ISPR
ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed 15 India-sponsored terrorists while foiling an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border opposite North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the military’s media wing, the movement of a group of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists attempting to infiltrate Pakistani territory was detected during the night of August 31 and September 1.
Security forces responded with professionalism and patience before engaging the infiltrating militants, ISPR said.
The operation continued for 36 hours, resulting in the killing of 15 terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored group.
During a subsequent sanitisation operation, security forces recovered a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition from the killed terrorists.
According to ISPR, the recovery further exposed the activities of the terrorists and their facilitators seeking to disrupt peace and stability in Pakistan.
The military said the weapons and ammunition recovered during the operation demonstrated the preparations of the infiltrating group for terrorist activities inside the country.
ISPR said the latest infiltration attempt once again supported Pakistan’s position regarding the Afghan Taliban government’s failure to prevent the use of Afghan territory for cross-border terrorism.
The military’s media wing said the Afghan Taliban authorities had also failed to ensure effective border management and fulfil their international obligations.
Pakistan has repeatedly called for stronger measures to prevent militant groups from using territory across the border for attacks against Pakistan.
Security forces remain determined to defend Pakistan’s borders, ISPR said.
A sanitisation operation is continuing in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining India-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists.
The military reiterated that counterterrorism operations under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam vision would continue at full pace until the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism is eliminated from the country.
ISPR reaffirmed that security forces would continue taking measures to protect Pakistan’s territorial integrity, peace and national security.
