Kohat Police Lines Blast Injures More Than 20, Several Critical

KOHAT: More than 20 people were injured in an explosion near the Old Police Lines in Kohat, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday, with several of the injured reported to be in critical condition, Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi said.
He said the rescue and relief operation was still underway, with injured people receiving immediate medical assistance before being shifted to nearby hospitals in Rescue 1122 ambulances.
According to Faizi, 14 ambulances, rescue and recovery vehicles and more than 40 personnel are currently participating in the operation at the blast site.
District Emergency Officer Noor-ul-Amin is personally supervising the rescue operation, he added.
Rescue teams are continuing relief activities at the scene and will remain engaged until the operation is completed.
Rescue 1122 said further details regarding the nature of the explosion and the exact number of casualties would be provided as more information becomes available.
The incident remains under investigation, while emergency teams continue their response at the site.
