Iran strongly condemns continued Israeli violations in Lebanon, calls for global response
TEHRAN: Iran has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque near a police centre in Kohat, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, during Friday prayers that left dozens of people dead and injured.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei expressed condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the government and Muslim people of neighbouring Pakistan.
Baghaei reaffirmed Iran’s principled position of firmly condemning all forms of terrorism and violent extremism.
He stressed that terrorist and violent attacks targeting civilians and security personnel have no justification whatsoever.
The Iranian spokesperson said the loss of innocent lives in the Kohat attack was deeply distressing and conveyed Iran’s solidarity with the people of Pakistan.
Baghaei also stressed the need for stronger cooperation and coordination among regional countries to combat terrorism effectively and consistently.
He said closer cooperation was essential to confronting terrorist threats and preventing further attacks against civilians and security personnel.
Iran’s condemnation came after the deadly explosion near a mosque in the Kohat Police Lines area, where Pakistani authorities reported significant casualties and launched emergency rescue operations.
