Ishaq Dar, Antigua and Barbuda Foreign Minister Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties at UNGA

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs E.P. Chet Greene on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The two foreign ministers held cordial discussions on bilateral relations and expressed a shared desire to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Antigua and Barbuda.

They explored opportunities to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in education, diplomatic training and other areas of mutual interest.

The two sides also discussed cooperation at multilateral forums, particularly within the Commonwealth and the United Nations.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to meet again at the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), scheduled to be held in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, in November 2026.

The meeting reflected Pakistan’s continued engagement with Caribbean countries and efforts to expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
