Balochistan Operations: 71 Terrorists Killed in 96 Hours, Says ISPR

RAWALPINDI: According to the ISPR, security forces have eliminated more than 71 terrorists during operations conducted across Balochistan in the last 96 hours.

According to the military’s media wing, security forces launched Operation Shaban in the Ziarat and surrounding areas on September 21 after intelligence agencies identified militant hideouts in the Shaban area of Quetta district.

During the operation, security forces involved terrorist and clean various hideouts. The ISPR said 33 terrorists were killed during the initial phase, while a further 23 were killed as the operation was intensified over the following 72 hours. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered.

In separate intelligence-based operations on September 25, security forces killed 11 terrorists at a hideout in Nushki district and six others in Mand, according to the ISPR.

The military said security forces have cleared a large area and that the clearance operation is continuing until the threat is fully neutralised. The ISPR described the terrorist as being linked to groups it calls Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan, and alleged Indian sponsorship of the groups. These are reports and allegations made by Pakistani authorities.

The operations are being conducted under the broader counterterrorism framework of Azm-e-Istehkam, which the ISPR said would continue with the involvement of security forces and law enforcement agencies.
