Trump Says He Cannot Predict When Iran May Be Forced to Surrender

US President Donald Trump has said he cannot predict when Iran may be forced to surrender, while describing the country’s current situation as “very bad.”

Speaking to reporters after meeting artificial intelligence industry leaders at the White House, Trump said he did not know whether Iran was close to laying down its arms in the ongoing conflict with the United States.

“I don’t know when Iran will surrender,” Trump said, while maintaining that the situation facing Tehran was extremely difficult.

Trump also referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying that Kim would be “fine” as long as he remained in power.

During the meeting, the US president also emphasized Washington’s aim of maintaining its lead in artificial intelligence. He said the United States had a significant advantage in the sector and wanted to preserve that position.

Trump and technology industry executives signed an AI-related document during the meeting. He described the agreement as a form of protection and said his administration was considering establishing a committee to oversee developments in artificial intelligence.

The president also said AI companies were showing an effective degree of self-regulation and that industry leaders understood the importance of responsible development.

Trump added that the meeting included discussions about suitable locations for new data centers. He said communities hosting such facilities could receive significant economic benefits.
