Another Vessel Hit by Unknown Projectile in Strait of Hormuz

Another commercial vessel came under attack by an unidentified projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

The incident caused a fire on board the vessel, but the blaze was later brought under control. The ship continued its journey after the fire was extinguished, according to maritime authorities.

All crew members were reported safe following the incident.

There was no immediate report of environmental damage, while an assessment of the damage caused to the vessel was underway.

The latest incident has added to security concerns surrounding commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime routes.

UKMTO has advised vessels operating in and around the Strait of Hormuz to maintain heightened caution while navigating the area.
