Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi Gets Closer to Release After Delays
Salman Khan’s upcoming war movie Maatrubhumi may finally hit cinemas this year, with the makers reportedly considering Diwali or Christmas for its release.Directed by
Apoorva Lakhia and starring Chitrangda Singh alongside Salman Khan, the film has remained in the spotlight due to its title change and repeated delays. The project was previously titled Battle of Galwan.
According to sources close to the film, Maatrubhumi is currently being reviewed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) this week.
“The film is in the process of being viewed by the CBFC this week. There have been no other changes. Salman Khan’s films have traditionally been family entertainers, so there is little reason to anticipate major objections from the censor board. Once passed, the team is looking at a Diwali or Christmas release,” the source said.
The film reportedly underwent reshoots after concerns emerged over its initial anti-China stance. Recent reports also claimed that the revised version had received clearance from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
However, the source denied that the government had ever halted the project.
“Maatrubhumi has never been halted by the government, and reports suggesting otherwise are mere speculation,” the source added.
