Saboor Aly’s Daughter Starts Preschool at 1.5, Sparks Online Debate
Pakistani star Saboor Aly revealing about her one-and-a-half-year old daughter, Serena preschool joining sparked online discussion.
While some social media users questioned whether the toddler is too young to begin preschool, others supported Saboor’s decision and said early interaction can benefit a child’s social development.
A video from Saboor’s recent appearance on Tabish Hashmi’s show Hasna Mana Hai has been circulating on social media. During the interview, the actress opened up about Serena’s preschool experience and explained why she decided to introduce her daughter to the environment at an early age.
Saboor, who shares Serena with her husband, actor Ali Ansari, clarified that her daughter does not spend several hours at preschool. Instead, she currently goes for only a short period to play and interact with other children.
“My daughter is going to pre-school now. She goes for 15 or 20 minutes, plays, and then comes back,” Saboor explained.
The actress said she believes the experience can help Serena develop her social skills by giving her an opportunity to interact with children her age.
“When she plays with other children, her social skills improve. Even if we are not there for a little while, she is getting the chance to learn how to be around others and how to communicate,” she added.
Saboor also recalled a funny moment from Serena’s orientation class. She revealed that her daughter became emotional and started crying, even though she is usually comfortable meeting and talking to people.
“During the orientation class, she was the only one who was crying and she embarrassed me a lot. Even though she is the type of child who talks to everyone on her own, I don’t know what happened that day,” she said.

However, Serena has since become more comfortable with preschool and has apparently developed a sweet bond with her teacher.
“But now, when she comes back to us, she cries saying she wants to stay with her teacher,” Saboor shared with a smile.
Saboor’s comments soon led to a wider discussion online about when children should begin preschool. Some social media users questioned whether one-and-a-half years is too early to present a child to a school environment.
Criticizers debated that toddlers should spend more time at home in their early years, with parents playing the major role in their early learning and growth.

On the other hand, several users defended Saboor’s choice, pointing out that many modern preschool programmes for toddlers are designed more like playgroups. At this age, many programmes center on playtime, interrelate with others and shape elementary age-related skills rather than traditional classroom education.
The varied feedbacks have once again fetched attention to the ongoing debate around early childhood education, social development and the different parenting choices families make for their children.
