Iran Executes Convict over Armed Attacks During 40-Day War

Iran’s Judiciary has announced the execution of Ali Sina Mostafavi, who was convicted of carrying out armed attacks that injured several civilians, including a minor girl, during the 40-day war involving the United States and Israel against Iran. According to the Judiciary, Mostafavi was hanged in Kerman on Wednesday morning after legal proceedings were completed and the Supreme Court upheld the verdict.
The Judiciary said Mostafavi carried out several armed operations in the southern Iranian city during the conflict, referred to as the Ramadan War. On March 24, he allegedly opened fire in Azadi Square, injuring a citizen and a young girl. On April 21, he reportedly fired at conscripts and passing vehicles, wounding several people. Investigators also linked him to two earlier unsuccessful shooting attacks targeting the Kerman-Mahan traffic police.
According to the Judiciary’s Media Center, technical investigations and evidence recovered from his mobile phone indicated that Mostafavi was an active member of a monarchist organization described by Iranian authorities as terrorist. The Judiciary further alleged that he communicated with hostile media outlets, shared footage of sites struck during the conflict, and expressed readiness to conduct attacks at Hashemi Rafsanjani Airport in Kerman. Iranian authorities also reported that he had sent numerous messages to Israel’s Persian-language Instagram account.
