Pezeshkian Says Bombs and Missiles Cannot Force Iran to Surrender

15 October, 2026 16:36

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that bombs and missiles cannot force the Iranian nation to surrender, stressing that internal unity is essential to counter external threats. Speaking on Thursday at a ceremony marking National Nurses’ Day, Pezeshkian warned that adversaries would achieve their objectives if divisions emerged within Iranian society. His remarks came amid heightened US pressure on Iran through threats, economic restrictions and what Tehran describes as aggression and blockade.

Pezeshkian cautioned that Iran’s adversaries were attempting to exploit domestic challenges and social divisions to weaken the country. He said shortages of electricity, water and gas, fuel difficulties, environmental problems, banking challenges, budget deficits and pension fund issues had been viewed as potential sources of internal discord. However, he maintained that the resilience and solidarity of the Iranian people had undermined these expectations, adding that the nation remained determined to resist external pressure, including restrictions affecting transportation and communication routes.

The Iranian president also paid tribute to nurses, medical personnel and others who had made sacrifices under difficult circumstances to protect public welfare and national security. He praised their commitment to safeguarding Iran’s territorial integrity during challenging times. Pezeshkian’s remarks underscored the Iranian leadership’s emphasis on national cohesion and public resilience as the country continues to face mounting external pressure and economic challenges.
