Fake Documents in BSF Recruitment Raise Questions Over Modi Govt’s Administration
The recruitment of personnel into India’s Border Security Force (BSF) using allegedly fake documents has raised questions about the Modi government’s administrative system and the verification process for sensitive positions.
According to Indian publication ThePrint, the eligibility of around 400 BSF personnel recruited over the years has come under doubt due to weak document verification.
The report said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had personally distributed appointment letters to the candidates after the relevant institutions were asked to verify their documents.
According to ThePrint, the National Skill Development Corporation said it had not issued verification certificates for nearly eight years.
Making these certificates mandatory despite their unavailability has raised concerns about administrative failures and transparency in the recruitment process.
Indian security experts say such serious flaws in recruitment raise questions about the credibility, professional standards and oversight systems of the country’s defence institutions.
