Mohsin Naqvi Says Political Leader Is Upset Over Not Getting Governorship

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has urged political leaders to avoid inflammatory statements and focus on restoring peace and eliminating terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Speaking informally to journalists in Lahore, Naqvi said some politicians who once relied on the establishment even for their party’s air tickets were now making allegations. He said political differences were understandable, but discussions should be based on facts and arguments rather than abusive language and accusations.

Naqvi also questioned why some political leaders were now raising concerns about the resources of the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) districts, while remaining silent for years when the region was not receiving its rightful share.

He stressed that the rights and resources of the people of the former FATA should be treated as a matter above political interests.

The interior minister said KP was facing serious security challenges. He urged political leaders to play a constructive role in restoring law and order instead of creating tension and spreading disorder.

Naqvi said the province needed peace, stability and collective efforts rather than political confrontation.
