Yemen’s armed forces have reported carrying out 1,326 attacks against Houthi militia positions over a 24-hour period, saying nearly 370 fighters were killed or rendered ineffective during the operations.

According to Arab media reports citing a Yemeni military spokesperson, the operations were conducted under the “Dawn of Yemen” campaign and targeted Houthi militia gatherings, military vehicles, fortified positions and firing locations.

Warplanes and drones were also involved in the reported operations.

Yemeni forces said government troops advanced on the eastern front west of Marib, while pressure was increased on southern and western fronts to restrict the Houthi militia’s movements, reinforcement transfers and military deployments.

In Taiz, government forces and local resistance groups reportedly captured several positions and seized heavy weapons and other military equipment.

The reported figure of approximately 370 fighters killed or rendered ineffective was described as based on an initial assessment.

The Yemeni military spokesperson said the reported strikes were carried out against military targets following verification, with precautions taken to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.

However, the reported number of attacks, casualties and battlefield gains has not been independently verified.

The latest reported operations come amid continued fighting between Yemen’s internationally recognised government forces and the Houthi militia, with the conflict continuing to have wider implications for regional security and maritime routes.
