Balochistan Makes Major Progress Towards Polio Eradication as All 23 Environmental Samples Test Negative

Balochistan has made significant progress towards eliminating polio, as all 23 environmental samples collected across the province have tested negative for the virus.

The provincial government is taking strong measures to make Balochistan polio-free.

Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said that no polio cases had been reported in the province for the past two years, while all 23 environmental samples had tested negative.

He said the negative results were the outcome of two years of continuous efforts to eliminate polio from the province.

The health minister added that the continued supervision of the chief minister and chief secretary had played a key role in the success of the anti-polio campaign.

Despite terrorism and difficult terrain, polio workers continued to reach children and administer vaccines, a commitment he praised.
