Allama Baqir asks Shia Muslims to suspend congregational prayers as per religious authority’s decree.
According to MWM leader Allama Baqir Zaidi, Shia Islamic jurisprudents have urged their followers to suspend congregations, including Friday prayers due to Coronavirus pandemic.
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Sindh chapter secretary general Allama Baqir Abbas Zaidi also appealed to Shia Muslims to follow the decree of religious authority/ jurisprudents.

He alerted that Coronavirus pandemic pose serious threat to Pakistan and all should observe precaution; otherwise, it may cause irreparable losses.
He also made clear that the government alone cannot implement the precautionary measures but citizens also need to shoulder their responsibility, individually.
Allama Baqir said that at least Shia Muslims should act upon religious decree of Shia Islamic jurisprudents in this regard.
Moreover, he said MWM is cooperating with the government to prevent to spread of Coronavirus.
He said the offices of MWM district chapters and newly established al Majlis Disaster Management Cell volunteers are serving humanity.
He said they are providing food items to the needy people.
MWM leader lauded the Zaireen (pilgrims) for spending long time at quarantine centres because they set precedent how to sacrifice for the sake of 220 compatriots.
Allama Baqir said that the entire country should follow Zaireen regarding quarantine. He also appreciated volunteers for serving them altruistically.
He said his party remains in forefront to play active role in preventing Coronavirus spread in Pakistan.
According to latest statistics, Coronavirus has infected over 1100 in Pakistan.
The COVID is not restricted to particular area or people.
The patients included 417 in Sindh and 323 in Punjab.
Coronavirus has infected 131 in Balochistan and 121 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Gilgit-Baltistan reported 84 confirmed cases while 25 cases confirmed in Islamabad and one in Azad Kashmir.
117 in Balochistan, 81 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 80 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
At least 20 Coronavirus confirmed cases reported in Islamabad and one in Azad Kashmir.
Twenty-one patients have recovered so far while eight died from the virus.
Five patients are in critical condition.
