Amjad Ali of PTI elected Speaker of Gilgit Baltistan Assembly today (Thursday).
Polling held for the post of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.

The contest held between Amjad Ali Zaidi of PTI and Ghulam Muhammad from the Opposition.
The PTI candidate won the election, while securing 18 votes.
However, election authorities rejected 4 votes for PTI candidate Amjad Ali Zaidi.
In the polling, one vote for opposition candidate Ghulam Muhammad was also rejected.
The opposition’s candidate could get 8 votes against Amjad Ali Zaidi’s 18 votes.
Meanwhile, Nazeer Ahmed elected as deputy speaker.
