Govt announces start of vaccination of people aged above 40 years from today.
Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan made this announcement, while briefing media persons in Islamabad on Monday.

He said the vaccination of people aged above forty years has begun from today.
The government is arranging to administer 150,000 vaccines on daily basis.
Furthermore, the SAPM on health said they set the target to take it to 300,000 vaccines daily.
He said the government has pursued a well thought out strategy to procure the vaccine.
So far, they have signed deals for 30 million doses. He termed it as satisfactory.
He said that they would receive 19 million doses by June this year.
He clarified that we are not relying on the donations but purchasing 90 percent of the vaccine doses.
Moreover, Dr Faisal Sultan said that they want to vaccinate 70 million people against Covid-19 by the end of this year.
The Special Assistant said that local filling of single dose CanSino vaccine also about to begin in the country.
He said that the National Institute of Health will prepare 3 million doses of this vaccine per month.
This, he said, will reduce our dependence on the imported doses.
Faisal Sultan urged the people to continue to observe the SOPs to check the spread of the virus.
