Honda Atlas to launch Hybrid electric cars in Pakistan soon

Honda Atlas Cars Limited has announced plans to introduce Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) in Pakistan. Although the company hasn’t given an exact launch date yet, it confirmed the news in a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

The company has stated the action reflects its dedication to innovation, cleaner technology, and better mobility for its customers. Honda believes that launching HEV models will be a significant step forward in expanding its offerings of vehicles and meeting the need for more environmentally friendly options in the country.

Honda also mentioned that full details, including specifications and the official launch timeline, will be shared in the future.

In recent years, more people in Pakistan have shown interest in electric and hybrid vehicles. However, there are still challenges such as high prices, limited charging infrastructure, and production issues.

In January 2025, the government made a significant move to promote the shift towards electric mobility by reducing electricity rates charged to EV charging stations by 45% from Rs71.10 to Rs39.40 per unit.

Also, a meeting led by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb reviewed the New Energy Vehicle Policy 2025, which aims to speed up EV adoption and solve production and infrastructure issues in the country.
