Chinese carmaker BYD is getting ready to launch the BYD Shark 6, a plug-in hybrid electric pickup truck that could become Pakistan’s first-ever hybrid pickup.
The Shark 6 was one of the highlights at the PAS 2024 auto show, and it’s anticipated to be challengers against more well-known diesel trucks like the Toyota Hilux Revo, ISUZU D-Max and JAC T9 Hunter.
Powerful and Efficient
The Shark 6 has a 1.5L turbo petrol engine combined with two electric motors, giving it a strong performance of 321kW power and 650Nm torque.
It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.
With its 29.58 kWh battery, you can drive up to 85 km on electricity alone and up to 800 km total using both fuel and battery.

BYD Shark 6 expected price and launch
Globally, the Shark 6 is priced between $25,000 and $38,000. Its price for Pakistan has yet to be announced, although it is expected soon. BYD is expected to launch the Shark 6 officially in the Pakistan market by October 2025.
As fuel costs rise and interest in environmentally sustainable vehicles grows, the Shark 6 could make a noticeable difference in Pakistan’s 4×4 and pickup truck segment, offering a powerful vehicle with ecological features.
