Honda CG 125, Suzuki 150 new registration fee ahead of Budget 2025-26

23 May, 2025 15:48

The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has reminded vehicle owners, including buyers of motorcycles and cars, to register their vehicles without delay. Driving an unregistered vehicle can lead to heavy fines and legal action.

The department is responsible for vehicle registration across Punjab. This legal process ensures that every car or bike on the road is properly documented, safe, and trackable.

Documents Required for Registration

To register a new vehicle, buyers must submit:

  • Proof of ownership

  • CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card)

  • Sales invoice from the dealer

Once verified, the vehicle is assigned a registration number and certificate. These help in maintaining public safety, preventing theft, and improving law enforcement.

Why Vehicle Registration is Important

Vehicle registration:

  • Ensures road safety

  • Helps the government track and tax vehicles

  • Supports theft recovery

  • Promotes legal compliance among drivers

The Punjab government has also launched online registration services. These digital platforms make the process faster and easier for both urban and rural residents.

Registration Fee for Popular Bikes in Punjab

Two of the most popular bikes in the province, the Honda CG 125 and Suzuki GS 150, have different registration fees under the 2024-25 budget.

  • Honda CG 125:
    📌 Registration Fee: Rs. 2,000 (one-time)

  • Suzuki GS 150:
    📌 Registration Fee: Rs. 2,500 (one-time)

These rates were updated last year and remain unchanged. The new 2025-26 Punjab budget is expected to be presented in June, but it is still unclear whether registration fees will be revised again.
