KIA Sportage L HEV Bookings Suspended in Pakistan – Here’s What You Need to Know

In a significant development for auto enthusiasts, Lucky Motor Corporation has temporarily suspended bookings for the 5th-generation KIA Sportage L HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) in Pakistan. The decision was made due to global supply chain issues impacting the availability of critical components needed for local assembly.

Why Have Bookings Been Halted?

KIA Pakistan announced that an overwhelming global demand for the hybrid version of the Sportage L has disrupted the shipment schedule for CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits, which are required for assembling the vehicle in Pakistan.

“Due to the overwhelming global demand for the Sportage L HEV, we are currently reassessing the shipment schedule of CKD kits,” the company stated.

“We have decided to temporarily suspend new bookings of the Sportage L HEV.”

What About Existing Orders?

KIA has assured customers that all existing bookings will be honored. Deliveries will continue as planned, in line with the Provisional Booking Order (PBO) schedule. Only new orders are affected by this temporary hold.

Are Other KIA Sportage Variants Affected?

No. The company confirmed that bookings for other variants, such as the Sportage 2.0L Alpha and 2.0L FWD, remain open and unaffected. These models are still available for purchase, and KIA has confirmed a steady supply chain for their components.
