Hyundai Tucson price update in Pakistan after Budget 2025-26 Green Tax

Hybrid car buyers in Pakistan may soon feel a pinch in their wallets, as the government has extended the Green Tax to cover hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). This move will directly impact popular models like the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, increasing their prices by up to Rs 2.4 lakh.

Earlier, the Green Tax was only applied to petrol vehicles, but under the Budget 2025-26, the tax now also includes hybrids with engine sizes between 1301cc and 1800cc. The tax is set at 2% of the ex-factory price, meaning higher costs for both variants of the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, which has a 1.6L engine.
