CM Punjab’s e-taxi scheme 2025: Balloting date and latest status
The deadline for submitting applications for the Chief Minister of Punjab’s e-taxi scheme has officially ended, and applicants are now eagerly waiting for the results.
The e-taxi initiative aims to promote eco-friendly ride-hailing services, support the province’s green vision, and create new job opportunities — especially for women. It’s part of the government’s broader plan to reduce pollution and promote sustainable transportation in Punjab.
Interest-Free Loans for Drivers and Fleet Owners
Under this program, both individuals and fleet owners can get financial help to start e-taxi businesses. The Government of Punjab is offering interest-free loans with zero percent markup.
Individual drivers can get up to Rs4,550,000.
Fleet owners or ride-hailing companies can receive up to Rs1,000,000,000 for their business operations.
Easy Repayment Plan
Borrowers can repay the loan in 57 equal monthly installments, which include both the principal and insurance. There is also a 3-month grace period before repayments begin, allowing participants enough time to set up their operations smoothly.
Women Empowerment and Lahore Quota
A special quota has been reserved for women, encouraging them to join the transportation sector. Fleet owners from Lahore are also among the key focus groups for this scheme.
E-Balloting for Selection
If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available e-taxis, the government will conduct an e-balloting to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process. The date for e-balloting has not yet been announced.
This initiative is expected to not only boost employment but also contribute to a cleaner, greener Punjab.
