Fake Pink Scooties Campaign Exposed: Don’t Share Info or Send Money
A fake social media campaign linked to the Sindh government’s Pink Scooties project has surfaced.
According to the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA), fake advertisements and registration forms are circulating across various social media platforms, with scammers collecting money by falsely claiming that girls can join the Pink Scooties project by “registering and paying.”
The Sindh government has taken strict notice of the matter, declaring that all such messages and online forms are fabricated, false, and misleading.
Officials clarified that the Pink Scooties initiative is a welfare project launched to promote safe, independent, and empowered travel for women. Under this scheme, deserving women receive scooties completely free of cost.
Authorities have advised the public not to trust any non-official website, link, or social media account. “Do not share personal information or make any payments under any circumstances,” the SMTA warned.
The government confirmed that legal action has been initiated against those spreading fake advertisements and misleading citizens. Girls seeking genuine registration information can contact the official numbers and email addresses provided by the Sindh government.
