Buying a new car in Pakistan, once a challenging and expensive process, is now becoming easier for buyers as top automakers introduce significant incentives. For years, purchasing a vehicle meant paying extra “on-money” just to avoid long waiting lists. SUVs and sedans from Toyota, Hyundai, Suzuki, MG, and several Chinese brands are now available with substantial discounts, free features, and flexible installment plans.

The infamous practice of paying premiums for immediate delivery is gradually disappearing, marking a major change in the country’s automobile sector. Leading manufacturers are now offering attractive deals to draw customers, signaling a shift in a highly competitive market.

From Japanese and Korean brands to Chinese automakers, the SUV segment is witnessing the most notable transformation. Analysts note that these limited-time promotions have become a critical strategy for companies to sustain sales in an evolving market.

Highlights of the latest offers include:

• Honda: Up to Rs3 lakh discount on select models.
• Toyota Fortuner: Prices slashed by Rs2.5 million. The Toyota Revo now comes with a “100% buy-back” scheme, allowing buyers to sell the car back at the same price after five years.
• Honda HR-V: Free registration and upgraded tires worth Rs300,000.
• Suzuki Every: Discount of Rs350,000.
• Changan Alsvin & Oshan X7: Discounts ranging from Rs150,000 to Rs500,000, valid until December 31, 2025.

Commenting on the evolving market, the Director of Research at Topline Securities said, “Earlier, only three Japanese companies dominated, and SUVs weren’t common. Now, almost every brand has an SUV, and customers have dozens of choices.”

Industry observers note that car sales in December are typically lower, while January sees a spike as many vehicles booked at the year-end are delivered in the new year. Automakers are leveraging this period to boost sales, enhance short-term revenue, and attract buyers before older models lose resale value.
