R&B singer Sammie, whose real name is Sammie Lee Bush Jr., was arrested in Henry County, Georgia, on charges of domestic violence and child cruelty. According to police records, the singer was booked on the night of October 19 and his bond was set at $1,050.
Reports claim the alleged victim is Teanna Reid, the mother of Sammie’s young daughter, Journee Leigh Bush.
Who is Teanna Reid?
Teanna Reid is a hairstylist based in Atlanta, Georgia, who works at Muvas Mane Salon. She gained public attention in 2023 when she and Sammie announced that they were expecting their first child together.
After their daughter’s birth, Sammie often shared heartfelt posts about fatherhood. In one emotional Instagram post, he praised Reid for her support and called her his “tribute.” He wrote about wanting to be a better man, father, and one day a husband.
What Happened Between Teanna Reid and Sammie?
On October 19, Henry County Police charged Sammie with battery (family violence) and third-degree cruelty to children. The latter charge reportedly means a child was present during or witnessed the incident.
Following Sammie’s arrest, Teanna Reid shared details of the alleged assault on a separate social media account. She said she wanted to speak out to raise awareness, not to “ruin” Sammie’s career.
Entertainment page Got Da Scoop posted videos that Reid shared online. One video showed her body with visible bruises. Another clip appeared to show officers placing someone in handcuffs. Reid also uploaded footage of a tablet being thrown up the stairs, claiming it was aimed at her and her daughter.
Through her main Instagram page, Reid later posted a short message: “I choose me. End of story.”
Sammie Responds to the Allegations
After news of his arrest spread, Sammie posted a short video to his Instagram Stories. He didn’t directly mention the incident but said: “I’m gonna let God have His say and the courts have their say. The truth will set you free.”
He ended his message with the words, “Peace, light, and love… God bless her.”
Fans were unsure whether he was referring to Teanna Reid or his daughter.
Despite the controversy, Sammie was later spotted attending ONE Musicfest, suggesting he has continued with his professional commitments while the legal matter unfolds.
As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and neither Sammie nor Teanna Reid has made further public statements. The court will determine the next steps in the case.
